Six Rules for Six Figures as an Affiliate Marketer

Do you ever dream about freedom? Time, financial or geographical freedom, or all three? Be able to spend time with those you care about, be able to support your family and do exciting things together, while working from where ever you choose… I certainly have! And I decided to not only dream but make it my reality.

Maybe you have started thinking that the laptop lifestyle is something you would like to pursue? If that is the case, I recommend that you learn from the best. Stuart Ross is one of the founders of the Six Figure Mentors. Here are his “Six Rules for Six Figures”:

#1. Give first, sell second

People can sense your intentions. If your only thought is “just take out you credit card and give me some money” when you market. Even if that is what you might need at the moment, that focus will come through in your messaging. You need to shift the focus from YOU to your AUDIENCE. What are their problems and how can you give or ad value in THEIR lives.

#2. Never stop believing in yourself!

Our surroundings are important for us, but not as much as our own thoughts. Your confidence and belief in yourself will be what will keep you going and really take your dreams to reality. Having a partner or friends that believe in you will help you keep your own belief strong. If you are currently not feeling that support or want to get more support and motivation to stay believing, or get confidence, join a mentor network full of people just like you who will encourage you and pick you up when you feel down.

#3. Prepare to WORK HARD at the start

There is no such thing as something for nothing! You are the one who has to do the job and become your own leader. It will take time and effort. At the start it might feel like you are sacrificing exactly those things that were the reason for you to pursue the freedom lifestyle. There is no denying that it takes time to learn, implement and start to optimise your sales funnel. What I like with the training modules offered by SFM is that you get help with step-by-step guides on how to do the heavy lifting setting up the infrastructure of your business, website, email campaign and what not. The real job for you is to apply all you will learn about marketing and make it fit your business and your audience. YOU need to learn and find your marketing technique that works for YOU. No one else will be able to do this for you.

#4. Build deep foundations for your business and focus on long term wealth, not short term income

Anchor your business well in so that it will serve you long term and is built on a well thought through strategy instead of just a tactic. For the freedom lifestyle to come true, you want to make your work count and give you as much back as possible. It might take more time and effort but it will work better. Take the metaphor of a house, when building a new skyscraper the construction of the foundation is the most crucial work, and takes the longest time. Start by figuring out what you really want so you can define you own purpose and get a strong burning desire to keep going.

#5. Prepare to fail, just fail fast and fail forward

As an affiliate marketer, and in marketing in general, the market changes and you need to develop your message and approach to always stay relevant to your audience. You will fail. But thats the way to learn. See each outcome as result that can help you get better, regardless if it’s a failure or success.

#6. Choose markets where you can provide solutions to peoples desperate problems!

If you want you affiliate marketing to stay relevant and be successful long term, make sure to help people solve their most desperate problems. Make sure the products you invest your time and energy into is of real value for those you market them to.
